New Year and New Blog!

Welcome to the new Dallas Kappa Jr. Night Group blog! It's a new year and we have some exciting things planned. Be sure to check this blog often for information on various group events and other ways to stay connected. We'll even share some fun things going on in Dallas non-related to Kappa but you can take your Kappa sisters, of course!

As the new year starts, we wanted to take a minute and introduce the 2011-2012 Kappa Jr. Night Group Board Members.

Lindsey Cullins: President

Lindsey just completed work on her master’s degree in education at SMU and will be a first-year teacher at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville. She grew up in Tyler, TX before attending Baylor University, where she majored in philosophy. In May, she celebrated her two year anniversary with her husband, Kent Cullins, who is also a Baylor alum.

Fun facts: Has a lifestyle blog about her adventures as a monogram-loving housewife with a serious dress obsession. One thing she learned in marriage is that you have to cultivate similar interests, which is why she beat her husband in his own fantasy football league, placing second overall...not bad for someone who hasn't worn tennis shoes in almost a year.

Lacy Lynch: Vice President

Lacy pledged Kappa at Baylor (Sic em'!) and graduated with a BFA in Theatre Performance. She got her M.A. in Theater, and works as a literary agent at Dupree/Miller & Assocaites- the agency that represents top authors, celebrities, and thought leaders from all over the world. In 2010, she co-founded Nouveau 47 Theater- a theater dedicated to cultivating new works, and new music in Dallas, TX.

Loves: Traveling (whether it's abroad or to small Texas towns), Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother (hilarious!), fall football season (Yay Baylor!) Chips and Salsa, acquiring colorful stemware, trying new foods and meeting new people.

Katherine Lane: Membership

Katherine is a quadruple KKG Legacy who pledged at TCU in 2004.  She majored in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science and began her career as a Television Reporter at KTAB News in Abilene. She has switched gears professionally and now works at the Dallas County Medical Society as a Physician Recruiter for the Non-Profit, Project Access Dallas.

Loves: She adores her eight siblings and her parents. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends, going to her family’s ranch, and exploring all that Dallas has to offer!

Kerry Duggan: Social

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Kerry “went Kappa” at Baylor University and graduated in 2007. Since then, she has immersed herself into the event planning industry. She currently works as an Event Planner at Rx Worldwide Meetings, Inc. and plans meetings for pharmaceutical companies all over the world.

Loves: She loves floral design and one of her favorite things is helping her friends with their flowers for bridal showers and weddings. She enjoys traveling for both work and leisure and thrives off of the excitement from her next airline ticket! She loves to cook by trial and error and always loves trying a new restaurant. She has a Pomeranian named Tilly and absolutely adores her!

Catherine Grimes: Philanthropy

Catherine grew up in Carthage, TX and now works as a Campus Recruiter for Ernst & Young, LLP. She pledged Kappa in 2004 at Texas A&M University where she served as Vice President of Academic Excellence in 2006 and President in 2007. Catherine majored in Accounting and got a Masters in Marketing.

Loves: Trying new recipes—especially anything sweet! Getting inspired by Real Simple and the Food Network (Ina Garten is the best!), traveling and exploring new places, visiting small town squares, Mom and Pop shops and decorating for the seasons! Her newest obsession is Latin Fusion at Lifetime Fitness and thinks everyone should give it a try!

Emily Byrd: Treasurer

Emily works for Ernst and Young doing Assurance for public clients. She grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma, before attending OU and majoring in Accounting. She graduated with a Masters of Accountancy degree and went on to get her CPA license.

Fun Facts: Emily has a twin sister who was born on a different day (she was before midnight and her twin was after midnight), obsessed with watching good movies, shopping, country music, and celebrity gossip.  She also loves decorating, blogging, and antiquing in her spare time.

Secretary: Kaitlan Moczulski

Kaitlan pledged Kappa at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in May 2008 with a BA in History. Kaitlan just graduated from SMU law school and finally has time to enjoy what she loves doing the most - running, reading, and hanging out with her friends!

Stephanie Thompson: Public Relations

Stephanie grew up in Rockwall, TX before attending Baylor University. She pledged Kappa in 2005 and served as the Assistant Recruitment Chair in 2006, SING Chair and University Events Chair in 2007. After graduating in 2008 as a Communications major, she immediately began her carreer as a Commercial Real Estate Leasing Agent for CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners. This past March, she celebrated her one year anniversary with her fellow Baylor-Bear husband, David Thompson.

Loves: Traveling near and far, blogging, cooking, baking, watching the Food Network and HGTV, a good glass a wine, Brookstone NAP blankets, college football, entertaining friends and family and considers hairspray the best invention ever! In May, she and her husband welcomed a German Shepherd puppy named Layla into their family.
